PHOTO AND ALBUM SCANNING
Why Digitize:
If you have old photos, slides or negatives of family events and other memorable occasions stored in drawers and old shoe boxes, I can help you archive these precious memories in a safe and secure way through our photo scanning service. Photo scanning allows you to share such memories with friends and loved ones through social media websites. They can also be printed into vibrant prints and turned into gifts, enlargements and photo art that can be displayed around the home.
My Process:
My photo scanning service allows you to digitally preserve your memories forever. Each photo is scanned by hand to ensure the best quality. We primarily work with local clients, offering free pick up and delivery to make the entire process easier for you, and more importantly safe for your memories!
Albums & Scrapbooks:
Westside Video Service specializes in photo album and scrapbook scanning. These are some of the most treasured and unique family items that exist. They come in all shapes and sizes and are often very delicate. We use a human touch from start to finish in order to create the best possible digital version of the photo album or scrapbook. We offer a free consultation in order to view your albums and provide an accurate estimated cost and delivery date.
Advanced Color & Tone Correction:
Depending on how your photos have been stored, the colors may have faded over time. We can bring them back to life with the use of our advanced software and experienced eye. Formats And Resolutions Explained:
300DPI VS. 600DPI:
The quick answer is that higher resolutions lead to better scans for reproducing your images. 600 DPI scans produce much larger files but help ensure every detail in your print is recorded in digital form. If you want files that are easier to work with and are not looking to necessarily print from the digital files, then 300 DPI scans would be a better choice.
JPEG Vs. TIFF Format:
TIFF files are larger, but will not lose any quality or clarity when edited and saved repeatedly. JPEGs, on the other hand, will lose a small amount of quality and clarity each time they are saved.
24-Bit Vs. 48-Bit Color Scan:
24-BIT and 48-BIT will look exactly the same on a computer monitor. But if you’re goal is to print your photos, then 48-Bit will give you a much better representation of colors.
